Building an application from the ground up
Switchback is an application that helps users who share common interests to match. I was contacted by a company in Hong Kong who started the project, and worked with an international team to create it from the ground up.
The application supports a matching, messaging, and notification feature. Users who have matched can message each other and share events.

A WAY TO MATCH
The application matches people based on their common interests. During the on-boarding flow, users can enter their interests and sub-categories (i.e. Music and "rock"). There is also a messaging feature with a timer that encourages interaction.
The notifications panel was designed to accommodate two types of notifications: events and fast-tracks. "Fast-tracks" are notifications of matches, and therefore required a condensed version of the user's profile. Events would send notifications if a user had subscribed to them.
WORKING WITH DEVELOPERS
Sketch file design
Working with an international team of developers was an incredible learning experience. Everyone on the team was talented and we talked about the most efficient way for filed hand off.
Most of the developers were comfortable using Sketch and Zeplin, so I included notes and user flow icons in the Sketch files for clarity.
BRANDING | USER INTERFACE DESIGN
Branding, style guide, and user interface elements
The goals was to add a fun flair to the illustration style and icons. The palette was limited but sets the ground for a lively color explorations. The logo was inspired by subway tracks and interlinking lines (alluding to people crossing paths).
